LENA TROTTER 
Lena Mae Trotter, 42, of Monticello died Monday, June 23, 1997, at the
Leisure Lodge Nursing Home in Hamburg.  She was a native of Hamburg born
to Eula Singleton Bridges and the late M.F. Franklin.  She was a former
resident of Palm Springs, Calif. and was a member of Emmanuel Church of
God in Christ in Hamburg.  She was also a homemaker.  She was preceded in
death by a brother, Martin Franklin.  Survivors include one son, Bennie
Trotter of Prescott, Ariz.; three daughters, Charlotte Trotter of San
Bernardino, Calif., Donna Trotter of Prescott and Bernetta Trotter of
Buena Vista, GA.; her mother, Eula Singleton Bridges of Crossett; her
fiance, Bobby Eggleston of Monticello; one brother, Levert Franklin of
Austin, Texas; one sister, Camille Stanley of Hamburg; three half-sisters,
Stacy Banks, Lennie Johnson and Alberta Franklin, all of California; and
two grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Friday, June 27 at 11 a.m.
at Emmanuel Church of God in Christ by bishop Danny Mays.  Burial was in
Phillip Grove Cemetery arranged by Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. 
Pallbearers were Jessie Chappel, Willie Mays, Jessie Washington, Y.T.
Singleton, Robert Davis and Martin Withers.  Honorary pallbearers were
the uncles and nephews.
