Know all men by these presents that I John field Senr. of the State and District afore said an for and in consideration of the sum of seventy five dollars to me in hanc paid by josiah Trotter of the same State and district I have granted bargained sold and relecd and by these presents do grant bargin sell an convey unto the said Josiah Trotter his heirs and assigns a certain tract of parsel of land containing fifty acres by the same more or less situated in the state and district afore said on branches of Georges Creek waters of Saluda River begining on a pine thence S 27 W 23 chains to a black oak faffen down thence N 1-2 W 32 chains to a lite wood stake thence N 16 E 20 chains to a white oak at the head of a branch thence St E to the begining corner T gether with all and singular the rights member here ditrements and appertainence there unto belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and singular the said premises unto the said Josiah Trotter his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind my self my heirs Exectors and administrators to warrant and forever defend the same unto the said Josiah Trotter his heirs and assigns against myself my heirs and assigns and all other person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof given under my hand and Seal this Eighteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Forty tow Signed Sealed and delivered in the presents of us

Barton Esqr personally appeared Benjamin Williams and after being duly sworn saith on oath that he saw John Field sign seal and deliver the within ded to Josiah Trotter for the purposes within mentioned and that Eli Watson was with him self a subscribing witness to the due execution of the same sworn to and subscribed this 20th Aug 1842.
