Rasmus JACOBSON and Lena HANSON

Rasmus Jacobson was born October 14, 1854 in Utterslev, Maribo County, Denmark. He was the son of Jacob Pedersen and Rasmine Hansdatter.

Rasmus came to Wisconsin in October 1877. He settled in the Brooklyn, WI area. Brooklyn lies at the northeast corner of Green County abutting Dane and Rock Counties.

Lena Hanson was born in June 1862 in Ullensaker, Akershus, Norway, the daughter of Lars Hanson Habberstad and Gorine Olson. Lena came to the Brooklyn area of Wisconsin with her family in the early 1870’s.

Rasmus and Lena continued to live and farm in the Brooklyn and Edgerton, Rock County areas.

Rasmus died May 18, 1919 at General hospital in Madison, Dane Co a week after he had had an operation. His death record indicates he had cancer. Lena died November 11, 1946 at her daughter’s home in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. They are buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton, Rock Co, WI.

Alfred Louis Jacobson was born March 25, 1880 in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI, and died May 2, 1942 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married Sena Wilhelmina FRED(E)RICKSON May 16, 1903 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, daughter of Anders Fred(e)rickson and Karen Rasmussen. Please go to Alfred’s family page to learn more.

John Joseph Jacobson was born October 2, 1882 in Brooklyn, WI, and died November 13, 1959 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. He married Dora CHRISTENSON November 25, 1903 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, Illinois, daughter of Christ and Laura Christenson. (Dora's maiden name is given variously as Christenson, Christiansen, and Christianson.) Dora was born June 1885 in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI, and died August 10, 1963 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. John and Dora lived in western Rock County and eastern Green County where they farmed. John also worked at Fairbanks, Morse & Company in Beloit, Rock Co, WI, and John and Dora lived in Beloit during their later years. They are buried at Mt Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn, Green Co, WI.

The children of John and Dora are:

i.	Grace Jacobson, born April 15, 1904 in Brooklyn, Green Co, WI; died June 4, 1906 at Story, Dane Co, WI. She is buried at the cemetery at Story in the Town of Oregon.
ii.	Erma L Jacobson, born 1905-1906 in Wisconsin; died about 1925. She is buried at Mt Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn, WI.
iii.	Lula Evelyn Jacobson, born February 20, 1908 in Porter Twp, Rock Co, WI; died March 12, 2000 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. She married (1) Mr CHATSEY. They had three children. Lula married (2) Orville Ralph BEILKE February 19, 1949 in Belvidere, Boone Co, IL, son of William Beilke and Hulda Borchardt. Orville was born January 12, 1919 in Jefferson, Jefferson Co, WI, and died March 9, 2004 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. Orville worked with Beloit Daily News for more than 35 years. Lulu was a homemaker. They are buried at East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI.
iv.	Merle Gladys Jacobson, born July 20, 1910 in Magnolia Twp, Rock Co, WI; died August 5, 1964 at Brodhead, Green Co, WI. She married Mr PIPITONE September 5, 1931 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, IL and they had two children. Merle is buried at Floral Lawns, South Beloit, IL.
v.	Lorraine (Rene) E Jacobson, born August 7, 1912 in Johnstown Center, Rock Co, WI; died June 15, 1997 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. She married Franklin Abraham RUBITSKY September 8, 1933, son of Frederick Rubitsky and Bertha Friedman. Frank was born May 1, 1908 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, and died October 3, 2001 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They lived in South Beloit, Winnebago Co, IL and Beloit, Rock Co, WI. Frank worked for Bryden Motors in Beloit for 30 years. They are buried at Floral Gardens Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL. Rene and Frank had two sons.
vi.	Gordon Richard Jacobson, born July 17, 1914 in Wisconsin; died February 9, 1916 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He died of spinal meningitis and is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville, Rock Co, WI.

Tillie G Jacobson was born January 10, 1885 in Wisconsin, and died September 9, 1946 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. She married Jens ANDERSON. Jens was born in Denmark and died before 1910. Tillie is buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton, WI.

The children of Tillie and Jens are:

i.	Willis R Anderson, born September 11, 1903 in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI; died April 7, 1962 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. Willis served in US Army during WWII. He was a carpenter. He is buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton, WI.
ii.	Ethel Irene Anderson, born February 1, 1905 in Wisconsin; died August 9, 1987 in San Diego Co, CA. She married a DOWD.

Annie C Jacobson was born March 22, 1887 near Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, and died June 25, 1985 in Oregon, Dane Co, WI. She married Olaf P NELSON in 1907. Olaf was born August 4, 1883 in Denmark, and died February 17, 1973 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. Although they spent a few years in Portland, Oregon, they lived mostly in the Stoughton, Dane Co area of Wisconsin and are buried at Stoughton.

The children of Annie and Olaf are:

i.	Morris R Nelson, born April 14, 1909 in Cooksville, Rock Co, WI; died July 10, 1988 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. He married (1) Alberta (Birdie) GREGG December 12, 1930, daughter of Jehiah and Abigal Gregg. She was born September 8, 1908, and died May 7, 1977. They had one son. Morris married (2) Marchita WHEELER July 22, 1986 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, daughter of Augustus Wheeler and Minnie Kemplin. She was born July 17, 1928 in Ohio, and died before 1988. Morris was a self-employed shoemaker.
ii.	Alvin Andrew Nelson, born July 26, 1911 in Portland, OR; died October 9, 1966 in Shorewood Hills, Dane Co, WI. He married Annes Irene LEIKNESS. Annes was born January 26, 1918, and died January 25, 2002. Alvin served during World War II and operated a roofing business. Alvin and Annes had two children.
iii.	Glen Nelson, born May 11, 1915 in Portland, OR, and died February 22, 1985. He married Ruth MAUER April 22, 1935 in Dubuque, IA, daughter of Albert and Mary Mauer. Ruth was born October 18, 1911 in Beaver Dam, Dodge Co, WI, and died April 28, 1996 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. Glen was a WWII Army vet and operated a roofing business in Stoughton with his brother for many years. Glen and Ruth are buried at Eastside Cemetery, Stoughton. They had one son.
iv.	Nelson daughter, born about 1919 in Wisconsin, who married a BJORDAHL.
v.	Dorothy Ruth Nelson, born September 2, 1923 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, and died June 11, 1976 in Chicago Heights, Cook Co, IL. She married a LORENZEN May 19, 1949. They had two children.
vi.	Roy (Ike) Nelson, born March 10, 1926 in Wyocena, Columbia Co, WI, and died May 29, 1991 in Waukegan, Lake Co, IL. He married a KARAS and they had two children. Ike was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked at Fansteel for 13 years and retired from the Public Works Department at Great Lakes after 20 years.
vii.	Elizabeth (Liz) M Nelson, born January 15, 1930 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI; died December 27, 1998 in Stoughton. She married a GJERTSON December 18, 1948. They had two children.

Clara Jacobson was born February 22, 1890, in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI, and died May 9, 1958 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. She married Jergen Martan JERGENSON February 15, 1910, son of John Jergenson and Thea Hanson. He was born September 21, 1880 in Norway, and died March 3, 1959 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. They farmed in the McFarland area until 1934 when they moved to Stoughton. Clara worked at the Stoughton Shoe Factory for 12 years.

i.	Gerald R Jergenson, born August 19, 1911 in Dane Co, WI; died May 30, 1985 in Madison, Dane Co, WI. He married Alice HANSON. Alice was born August 1, 1904, and died March 1984.
ii.	Viola Jergenson born about May 1914; died Jun 9, 1921 in Dane Co, WI of tuberculous meningitis.
iii.	John Jergenson, born October 29, 1924 in Dane Co, WI; died Dec 23, 1987 in Phoenix, Maricopa Co, AZ. He married Joan Elizabeth Letitia SOAN July 23, 1944 in London, England, daughter of William Soan and Letitia Irons. Joan was born August 14, 1923 in London, England, and died July 10, 2000 in Phoenix, Maricopa Co, AZ. John served in WWII, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. John and Joan had five children.

Christ (also Chris) Jacobson was born February 22, 1890 in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI, and died June 14, 1948 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married Lillian Genevieve FRENETTE April 15, 1916 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, daughter of John Frenette and Marie Felix. Lillian was born about 1897 in Chippewa Falls, Chippewa Co, WI, and died in 1929. Christ was a farmer and junk dealer. They lived in Albany, Green County, WI and later Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They are buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton, WI.

The children of Christ and Genevieve are:

i.	Elna (Sally) Lillian Jacobson, born September 2, 1916 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died December 3, 1988 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married Lester GESTELAND December 16, 1933 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, the son of Robert Gesteland and Caroline Berkness. Lester was born October 14, 1910 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, and died January 1, 1989 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Sally and Lester lived in Janesville where Lester worked at General Motors. They are buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. They had four children.
ii.	Raymond Rassmuss Jacobson, born April 23, 1918 in Albany, Green Co, WI; died March 22, 1971 in Milton Township, Rock Co, WI. He married Alice Jeanette MILLER February 6, 1937 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, IL, daughter of Jason Isaac Miller and Irene Craig. Alice was born February 3, 1921 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI, and died May 2, 1982 in Madison, Dane Co, WI. Raymond worked in the tree trimming business. Alice was a food supervisor at the Rock County Health Center. They are buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. They had three children.
iii.	Irene Lena Jacobson, born February 15, 1920 in Brodhead, Green Co, WI; died September 24, 1921 in Janesville Twp, Rock Co, WI. She died of gastroeritritis and is buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton, WI.
iv.	Verne (Shorty) Rolland Jacobson, born April 4, 1921 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI; died May 19, 1987 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. He married a SPODEN September 11, 1948 in Dubuque, IA. Verne served in the US Army from 1945-1947. He owned and operated Janesville Tree Service, a tree trimming business, for many years. He is buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. Verne had three sons.
v.	Merlyn Clifford (Jake) Jacobson, born June 1, 1922 in Fulton Twp, Rock Co, WI; died December 14, 1977 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married (1) Ms TRACEY and they had a daughter. He married (2) Helen Margaret FRYE April 29, 1950 in Washington, DC, daughter of Myrland Frye and Dorothea Kalb. Margaret was born May 5, 1918 in Lovettsville, Loudoun Co, VA, and died March 1, 2005 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Merlyn was with the Army Engineer's Corp during WWII. He was later employed by Jacobson Tree Experts and then Gilman Engineering in Janesville. Margaret was a seamstress for JC Penney Co for more than 20 years. They are buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. They had three children.
vi.	Eileen Lucile Jacobson, born October 19, 1924 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died September 14, 1994 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married (1) Mr REPKE April 9, 1943 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married (2) Edward S SPODEN November 16, 1947 in Nashua, Chickasaw Co, IA, son of Peter Spoden and Bertha May McDowell. Edward was born July 30, 1925 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, and died March 29, 2004 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Eileen worked as an operator with the Wisconsin Telephone Company. Later she worked for the McCue & Buss Pharmacy and then Kennedy Rexall in Janesville. Edward was a sales associate for Cain-Ashcraft Furniture in Janesville for nearly 40 years. They are buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. They had two children.
vii.	Edna Louise Jacobson, born November 25, 1926 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died December 10, 1932 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. On December 6, 1932, a hit-and-run driver struck Edna as she crossed a street near her family’s home. She died at Janesville’s Mercy Hospital of a skull fracture a few days after the accident and is buried in Edgerton, WI.

Edward Jacobson was born 1892, and died November 3, 1926. He married Elsie LEMKE in 1913, daughter of August Lemke and Anna Schumacher. Elsie was born January 28, 1894 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, and died in February 6, 1983 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. Edward died in a car accident before his seventh child was born. Elsie worked at tobacco warehouses and at Edgerton Hospital. They are buried at Jensen Cemetery in Edgerton.

The children of Edward and Elsie are:

i.	Lawrence Jacobson, born about 1912 in Wisconsin. He married a CASE and had one daughter.
ii.	Earl W Jacobson, born March 30, 1914 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died October 2, 1987 in Jefferson, Jefferson Co, WI. He married Ann (Anna) Marie WAMSER November 25, 1935, daughter of John and Meta Wamser. Anna was born August 17, 1913 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co, WI, and died October 25, 2004 in West Bend, Washington Co, WI. Earl was an electrician and worked for the City of Jefferson in Jefferson Co, WI. Anna work at Jefferson Meats for 25 years. They are buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton. They had one son.
iii.	Clarice Mae Jacobson, born December 5, 1915 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died August 4, 2002. She married a PURNELL and had two children. Clarice was a tireless volunteer in numerous church and community organizations. She is buried at Busseyville Cemetery, Busseyville, Jefferson Co, WI.
iv.	Jacobson daughter, born about 1919 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, who married an ELLEFSON May 20, 1938 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. They had two children.
v.	Jacobson daughter, born about 1922, who married a STRICKER October 14, 1939 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. They had three children.
vi.	Allan Walter Jacobson, born July 27, 1924 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died November 18, 1992 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. He married a WILCOX April 24, 1948. Allan served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired in 1988 from Southern Wisconsin News of Milton, Rock Co, WI, where he was a route driver. He is buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton. He had three children.
vii.	Jacobson daughter, born 1927 in Rock Co, WI. She married a LYKE September 29, 1948 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. They had four children.

Louis Jacobson was born February 12, 1894 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, and died August 30, 1965 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. He married (1) Charlotte Josephine WIGSMOEN January 15, 1915, daughter of Lars Wigsmoen and Bertha Sather. Charlotte was born January 25, 1894 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, and died May 19, 1954 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. They lived in Madison and Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. Louis married (2) Ada Bernetta ORVOLD Jacobson in 1956, daughter of Amos Orvold and Betsy Severson. Ada was born May 5, 1887 in Wisconsin, and died August 20, 1959 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. Louis founded Jacobson Trucking and Excavating Company and was in the trucking business most of his life. Louis and Charlotte are buried at Riverside Cemetery, in Stoughton. Ada is buried at Rush River Cemetery, Baldwin, Pierce Co, WI with her parents.

The children of Louis and Charlotte are:

i.	Beatrice L Jacobson, born February 18, 1915 in Dane Co, WI, and died April 1991. She married Austin JONES March 30, 1936 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, son of Adelbert Jones and Zella Francis. Austin was born April 4, 1912 in Evansville, Rock Co, WI, and died Dec 12, 1994 in Mt Horeb, Dane Co, WI. They had one daughter.
ii.	Roger Louis Jacobson was born April 1, 1916 in Dane Co, WI, and died December 27, 1981 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. He married a CHRISTIANSON in 1938. He operated Jacobson Ice Co in Stoughton and later Jacobson Trucking & Excavating Co until 1977. He is buried at Eastside Lutheran Cemetery, Stoughton. They had three children.
iii.	Lois M Jacobson was born November 28, 1917 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI, and died May 23, 1993. She married Lawrence Joseph AABERG November 19, 1935, son of Nels Aaberg and Josie Leikness. Lawrence was born September 30, 1913 in Wisconsin, and died September 25, 1981 in Brookfield, Waukesha Co, WI. Lawrence and Lois farmed in the Brooklyn area for many years until moving to Stoughton where Lawrence worked for the Sundby Sand & Gravel Co. They are buried at Eastside Lutheran Cemetery, Stoughton. They had two children.
iv.	Marion Elenore Jacobson, born March 6, 1920 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, and died May 10, 1999. She married a LARSON and they had one daughter.
v.	Violet Lucille Jacobson, born February 15, 1922 in Janesville Twp, Rock Co, WI, and died January 11, 1962 in Madison, Dane Co, WI. She married Oscar WEDOE March 9, 1945. Oscar was born December 5, 1920, and died November 17, 1967 in Hot Springs, Fall River Co, SD. They had seven children.
vi.	Jacobson son, born about 1924. He married a DALSOREN June 4, 1949 in Dane Co, WI and they had four children.
vii.	Shirley Josephine Jacobson, born January 11, 1926 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI.
viii.	Betty J Jacobson, born August 27, 1927 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI; died September 20, 2000 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. She married Russell GUNDERSON June 29, 1946, son of Gilbert Gunderson and Gurina Hougan. Russell was born October 21, 1927 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, and died January 11, 1998 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. Betty worked several years for the Badger Builders Co and Arnold Electric Co as a secretary. Russell owned and operated a concrete foundation company. Betty and Russell had no children. They are buried at Eastside Cemetery, Stoughton, Dane Co, WI.
ix.	Richard Milo Jacobson, born September 21, 1928 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI; died February 7, 1991 in Mesa, Maricopa Co, AZ. He married a HEGGESTAD October 8, 1955 in Dane Co, WI. Richard was a partner with his brother Roger in Jacobson Trucking & Excavating Co. Richard and his wife raised several of his sister Violet’s children. He is buried at Eastside Cemetery, Stoughton, Dane Co, WI.
x.	Jacobson daughter, born after 1930. She married a DARY July 16, 1950 in Dane Co, WI and had six children.
xi.	Charmaine Jacobson, born after 1930; died young.

Minnie Jacobson was born March 11, 1896 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, and died March 28, 1935 in Indian Ford, Fulton Twp, Rock Co, WI. She married John James O'CONNOR, son of Richard O'Connor and Elizabeth Wesendonk. John was born May 28, 1893 in Superior, Douglas Co, WI, and died June 25, 1955 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. John operated the Indian Ford Trailer Park and later a tavern at Indian Ford for many years. They are buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton, WI.

The children of Minnie and John are:

Richard Everett O'Connor, born December 29, 1915 in the state of Oregon; died November 22, 1988 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. He married Edna TEUBERT December 5, 1936 in Belvidere, Boone Co, IL, daughter of Albert Teubert and Elizabeth Sell. Edna was born January 3, 1917 in Horicon, Dodge Co, WI, and died January 5, 1982 in Madison, Dane Co, WI. They lived in Edgerton. Richard was a machinist at Parker Pen in Janesville for 24 years, retiring in the 1970's. Edna worked for IKI Industries for 25 years. They are buried at Fassett Cemetery, Edgerton. They had three children.

O'Connor daughter, born about 1922. She married a NATTER and had one son.

Tena Jacobson was born May 5, 1898 in Wisconsin, and died January 21, 1994 in Polo, Ogle Co, IL. She married George W SCHMIDT May 21, 1916 in Winona, Winona Co, Minnesota. They lived in Bangor, LaCrosse Co, WI, then Sparta, Monroe Co, WI. In 1936, they moved to Melrose, Jackson Co, WI. Tena moved to Coleta, Whiteside Co, IL in 1987. She is buried at Melrose Cemetery, Melrose, Jackson Co, WI.

The children of Tena and George are:

i.	Vincint Schmidt, born about 1917 who married a SPAULDING and had five children.
ii.	Schmidt daughter, born about 1918 who married a STURTEVANT
iii.	Gordon Schmidt, born June 8, 1929; died September 19, 2003, who married a SCHOLZE and had five children.

Leslie Roy Jacobson was born May 17, 1900 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI, and died December 5, 1956 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married Marguerite Cecilia McCARTHY May 1, 1923 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, IL, daughter of Judd McCarthy and Emma Desmond. Marguerite was born July 1902 in Madison, Dane Co, WI, and died October 23, 1964 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They lived in Janesville, Rock Co, WI for many years. Leslie was in the roofing business. They are buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton.

The children of Leslie and Marguerite are:

i.	Donald Leslie Jacobson, born October 13, 1923 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died November 3, 1999 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married Virginia Jane CERNY November 16, 1946 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, daughter of John Joseph Cerny and Emily Jestrabik. Virginia was born October 15, 1928 in Rock Co, WI, and died July 1, 1995 in Rock Co, WI. Donald graduated from Janesville High School and served in the US Army from 1941-1945 during WWII. He was with CNW Railroad for 10 years and was an ironworker for Local 498 of Rockford, IL for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. They are buried at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Janesville. They had two children.
ii.	Betty Marie Jacobson, born September 22, 1925 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died August 19, 2006 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married Vaughn Franklin THOMPSON June 21, 1947 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, son of Frank David Thompson and Crystal Marion Hollibush. Vaughn was born October 13, 1921 in Brooklyn, Green Co, WI, and died September 16, 1992 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Vaughn was employed by Parker Pen Company for 40 years. Betty owned The Thrift Shop. They are buried at Oakhill Cemetery, Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They had three children.
iii.	Norma Lucile Jacobson, born July 11, 1927 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died January 30, 1978 in Roanoke, VA. She married (1) Delbert HULVEY. They had a daughter Nancy C (Jan 25, 1948 – Jan 12, 2002). Norma married (2) Mr HENRY July 19, 1953. Normas is buried at Oakhill Cemetery, Janesville, Rock Co, WI.
iv.	Marcella Ann Jacobson, born September 17, 1928 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died February 11, 1999 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married a BURKE August 11, 1951 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Marcella is buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. They had four children.
v.	Howard V Jacobson, born August 22, 1930 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI; died October 18, 1980 in Salem, Marion Co, OR. He served with the US Air Force during the Korean conflict. His family lost touch with him in 1959, but it was thought he lived in Chicago, IL for a time. The family did not learn of his death until 1995. He is buried at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah Co, OR.
vi.	Jacobson son, born in 1933 in Rock Co, WI. He married (1) Ms YOUNG November 2, 1951 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They had five children. He married (2) Ms WENDLER September 2, 1977 in Rockton, Winnebago Co, IL.
vii.	Carole Margaret Jacobson, born March 11, 1936 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI; died June 20, 1999 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married a CALKINS Jun 18, 1955 in Blair, Trempealeau Co, WI. Carole is buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. They had four children.
viii.	Jacobson daughter, born 1938 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, who married a KLUSMEYER Jun 29, 1957 in Footville, Rock Co, WI. They had five children.
ix.	Jacobson daughter, born 1940 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI, who married a MARESCH Nov 1, 1958 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They had five children.

Henry Carl Jacobson was born May 1, 1902 in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI, and died November 20, 1940 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married Helen E BARSON May 27, 1921 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, IL, daughter of Vincent and Anna Barson. Henry farmed and was a WPA laborer. He died of peritonitis from a ruptured appendix. He is buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton. Helen was born March 11, 1902 in Highland, Madison Co, IL, and died August 5, 1987 in Janesville Twp, Rock Co, WI. Helen worked for the Freeman Shoe Company, Beloit, Rock Co, WI for a time. She remarried to Floyd G Cole and they had some children. Helen is buried at East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI.

The children of Henry and Helen are:

i.	Delores May Jacobson, born March 15, 1922 in Rock Co, WI; died December 27, 1996. She married (1) Mr SHERWOOD. She married (2) Frank F CISEWSKI, son of Frank Cisewski and Mary Kirlen. Frank was born May 3, 1915 in Winona, Winona Co, MN, and died December 31, 1998. Frank was a plumber. Delores and Frank are buried in Arizona. They had one son.
ii.	Beverly Elaine Jacobson, born November 4, 1924 in Rock Co, WI; died June 23, 1983 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. She married a SWEGER September 14, 1946 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. Beverly was a WWII Women’s Army Corps vet. With her husband, she owned and operated a Beloit oil company for many years. Beverly is buried at East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit. They had five children.
iii.	Melvin Richard Jacobson, born December 29, 1926 in Wisconsin; died January 6, 1927 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI. A valve in his heart failed to close after he was born. He is buried at Jensen Cemetery, Edgerton.
iv.	June Joan Jacobson, born October 13, 1928 in Edgerton, Rock Co, WI; died October 1, 1999 in Beloit, Rock Co, WI. She married a GILMOUR. June was employed by Freeman Shoe for five years, and then chose to stay at home on the family farm raising their five children. She is buried at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens, South Beloit, IL.

Lester Earl Jacobson was born June 29, 1904 in Brooklyn, Dane Co, WI, and died February 23, 1969 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. He married Bernice Emily KLEIN October 8, 1929 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, IL, daughter of Carl Klein and Lizzie Meier. Bernice was born May 29, 1905 in McFarland, Dane Co, WI, and died July 26, 1979 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They lived in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI and Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Lester was a roofer, owner-operator of Ideal Roofing Company, until ill health forced him to retire. They are buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville.

The children of Lester and Bernice are:

i.	Kathleen (Kay) Lenora Jacobson, born August 26, 1930 in Wisconsin; died March 5, 1994 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. She married a CRIPPS June 2, 1951 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. Kay is buried at Milton Lawns Memorial Park, Janesville. They had three children.
ii.	Jacobson daughter, born 1934 in Madison, Dane Co, W who married a PRESS January 9, 1954 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They have three children.
iii.	Earl Lester Jacobson, born August 12, 1936 in Madison, Dane Co, WI.
iv.	Jacobson daughter, born in 1938 in Madison, Dane Co, WI who married an OLSON. They have three children.
v.	Jacobson daughter, born 1940 in Stoughton, Dane Co, WI. She married (1) Mr ERDMAN March 5, 1958 in Janesville, Rock Co, WI. They had two children. She married (2) Mr WEBER February 7, 1964 in Rock Co, WI, and they had a daughter. She married (3) Mr MARTIN and they had a daughter.

I personally researched and verified much of the data you see on this page, but I pulled a few names from research done by others. Sometime, perhaps around 1971, someone created a comprehensive list of descendants of Lars Hanson Habberstad and Gorine Olson. (Unfortunately, my copy of the document does not list the author(s). It appears to have been created in preparation for, or maybe as a result of, a family reunion.) I used the Habberstad/Olson document as a starting place for my research of the Rasmus and Lena Jacobson family. In some cases, I included on this page names from the Habberstad/Olson document, even though I have not yet verified them on my own.
