Though I took great care in my research, you can be sure to find errors ranging from typos to misinterpretations to inaccurate assumptions.  Please forgive me.

In cases where I wasn’t sure about the accuracy of facts, I tried to make the uncertainty clear in my presentation or else left the data out.

I personally researched and verified much of the data you see on this page.  Some of the sources I used were:  vital records, such as marriage and death records; published newspaper accounts of events, including marriage announcements and obituaries; and census records.  Please contact me for source information applying to specific data.

Thank you Steve Bartle, great-grandson of William P Bartle, for numerous clues about the Bartles and the Grenfells.
