John9 TRELOAR (Joseph8, Bennet7, James6, Bennet5, Thomas4, John3, Wearne2, John1 Werne TRELOWARTH),  son of Joseph Treloar and Susan Crase, b. 23 May 1869 Linden, Iowa Co,, Wis.; d. 21 Oct. 1949; bur. Ogden, Iowa; md. 1 Jan. 1894 Ida Rose TEMBEY, b. 7 May 1875 Galena, Nevada, dau. Samuel Tembey and Mary Moore.

Orson Lee Treloar Wrote:

"Uncle Jack (John) Treloar was one of the twinkle-eyed sons of Joseph. To me he always seemed in good humor. He and Aunt Ida were my summer parents as I often worked (?) for them as a child. I think I spent most of the time riding their pony, "Prince." I must have been mischievous when living with them as that was my nature, but I can't recall being reprimanded.

John Treloar moved to Iowa with his parents when he was 6 months of age. He continued to live in the homestead house after his parents retired. Aunt Ida and he spent their 55 years of married life on the homestead. The house was added onto and was always in good repair. This Homestead Farm was the nucleus of the Treloar Family for many, many years. Family  reunions here were events never to be forgotten.

The Treloars were charter members of the Peoples Baptist Church in Peoples Twp., and John was a deacon and trustee for many years. Other civic positions held were School Board member and member of Election Board.

Aunt Ida Rose Tembey was born in Nevada 1875 and came to Iowa in 1881. Her parents ran the Commercial Hotel in Ogden, Iowa. When she was sixteen years old her father died and she discontinued her schooling to help her mother until five years later when she was married. Her life has been one of service to others. She has served as Sunday School Teacher and President of the Woman's Missionary Society but I believe her most noted services have been out side any organized societies."
