Donegal John may have used the name Edward. There is a written historical account that an Edward and his wife came to Canada. Since the family has a penchant for using middle names, I would guess that Edward was his middle name. This is purely speculation at this point.

John TRELFORD (1790-1871) was born about 1790*. He died after 1871*.

* 1871 Ontario Census. According to the census, John was 80 in 1871.
John married Mary ? about 1817 in Ireland. Mary was born in Ireland?.
They had the following children:

1.	Sarah TRELFORD "Sally" was born about 1818 in Ireland.
2.	GeorgeTRELFORD (John) was born 1822 in Ireland. He died 18 Apr 1895 and was buried in Invermay, ON.
3.	John TRELFORD was born about 1825 in Tara, ON.
4.	Henry TRELFORD (John) was born about 1828 in Tara, ON. He died 1872?.
5.	Copeland TRELFORD "Coplen" (John) was born Nov 1839 in Tara, ON. He died 2 Feb 1917 and was buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Tara, ON.
6.	William Edward TRELFORD "Edward?" was born 1842. He died 1889 from what may have been T.B.
