Bartholomew Vawter is said to have come from Plymouth, England and born about 1665. It is not known when he arrived in the New World, but he died in Tappahannock, Essex County, Virginia, ca. 1717. He married Winifred Hodgson between 1689 and 1691 in Essex County. Winifred was the daughter of William and Onah Hodgson. Child of Bartholomew Vawter and Winifred Hodgson: John Vawter married Margaret "Mary" Noel the daughter of Daniel Noel and Elizabeth Child of John Vawter and Margaret Noel: Richard Beverly Vawter married Frances Towles the daughter of Stokeley Towles and Ann Vallott Child of Beverly Vawter and Frances Towles: Russell Vawter married Mary Sparks daughter of Thomas Sparks Child of Russell Vawter and Mary Sparks: Beverly Vawter who married Elizabeth Hutchins Child of Beverly Vawter and Elizabeth Hutchins: John C.
