FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MR. DUNCAN AT CUMBERLAND
Funeral services for Robert Lee Duncan, who died Christmas Day were held
in the Cumberland Baptist church Tuesday afternoon.
The Rev. Andy Underhill conducted the services. Music was furnished by the
church choir.
Burial was in the Cumberland cemetery under the direction of Watts Funeral
Home of Madill.
Mr. Duncan had been a farmer in Marshall county for the past 50 years. He
was born in Illinois March 18, 1863. He had been a member of the Methodist
church since he was a young man. Mrs. Duncan died in 1945.
Survivors included eight children, Guy Duncan, Quanah, Tex., Mrs. Maggie
Alsup, Odessa, Tex., Mrs. Ora Rice, Little City, Mrs. Mae Rice,
Cumberland, Mrs Addie Hartin, Madill, Ed Duncan, Cecil Duncan and Buck
Duncan, all of Cumberland; 33 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Lee Alsup, Leonard Hartin, Estes Duncan, Loyd Rice,
Robert Duncan and Don Rice.

LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. DUNCAN
Burial is Sunday at Cumberland
Memorial Services were held Sunday for Hattie Jane Duncan, wife of R.L.
Duncan, who passed away Saturday at her home in Cumberland. She had lived
in Marshall County for the past fifty years.
Survivors besides her husband are eight children: Mrs. Margaret Alsup,
Shawnee; Mrs. May Rice, Cumberland; Mrs. Ora Rice, Cumberland; Guy Duncan,
Texas; Edd Duncan, Little City; Cecil Duncan, Little City; Roy Duncan,
Cumberland, and 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three brothers
and one sister.
Services were held at the Cumberland Baptist Church, with the Rev. L.A.
Richardson of the Madill Nazarence church in charge. Assisted by the Rev.
Andy Underhill. Mr. Eddington had charge of the song service. Interment
was at Cumberland cemetery with Watts Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
