JAMES1 He is the farthest back I have been able to find so far. I have a copy of his will, written Oct. 10, 1767, probated April 1, 1771. His wife was Mary.
Their 10 children:

in Henrico Co., VA, married "Fannie" Elizabeth Goode, Nov. 23, 1786 in Powhatan Co., VA.
He was a lawyer, served in the Continental Army and was wounded in the Battle of Cowpens, SC. Jan 17, 1781. He was a member of the VA House of Burgesses 1813-1817 from Prince Edward county. He qualified as overseer to the poor in Prince Edward county in 1795.
He died March 21, 1825

- THOMAS GOODE LINDSAY
married Susan Shays Abbott(a distant cousin) on 7-27-1818 in Halifax, VA.
He was a farmer and served in the War of 1812 as a Captain. He was wounded at Cramy Island, June 20, 1813.
He died in Prince Edward county 1841 or 1847.

minister, attended Wake Forest College, NC. died in Davidson County, TN 1850.

Wallace of Concord, NC. Enlisted on 2-24-62 at Orange County, NC as a Private. Mustered into
"F" Co. NC 6th Infantry. He was discharged for wounds at Richmond, VA (Amputation of all
fingers on left hand) wounded 6-27-62 Gaines' Mill, VA)

LINDSAY, born 1832 in Prince Edward county, VA. Married Martha Caroline "Carrie" Adams 5-8-1861 in Lincolnton, NC. Attended Trinity College, NC, and Jefferson Medical inPhila, PA. He was a doctor and served in the Confederate Army, Co. K, 49th NC, entered as a private and became Captain. He was A Royal Arch Mason, member of Odd Fellows, and Pickett and Lee Camps, CV. I have a letter written by him May 11, 1898, on letter head from Richmond Industrial Home where he was the Supt. He was married 3 times.
He died July 1902, Martha Caroline died 1881

- JOHN PARKS LINDSAY born March 29, 1872
married Kate Bane from Graham, VA. They lived in Charlotte, NC then later moved to Nashville,
TN. He died 1954

LINDSAY born Aug. 21, 1863 married Martha "Mattie" Beaureguard McConaughay Sept. 19, 1886
He attended the Theological Seminary of Virginia, and received his PhD from unknown school.

- ROSA LOIS LINDSAY Born June 26, 1896 married
Thomas Gerald Drane Aug. 17, 1920. He was an office in the US Army and retired with the rank
of Colonel. During his years in the service, she lived in Memphis, TN and managed their farm.
After his retirement they moved to Gulf Shores, AL.

married Jesse M. Johnston. They had no children. She died May 1980. He died Oct.
1985
- PAUL EARL WILLIAM
LINDSAY He married Agnes Rae Fullerton dob: Dec. 10, 1895 dod: Jan, 1984, in FL
He was born in Lewiston(now part of Charleston)WVA. Gratuated from Cavanaugh Academy in Lexington, KY with degrees in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Enlisted in the National Guard in Memphis, TN Dec. 15, 1917. Promoted to Sergean in the Medical Dept. of the US Army at Camp Senic, Greenville, SC. During WWI he served in France with the 30th Div. of the American Expeditionary Force. He was wounded in action on Sept. 29, 1918. In France, he served with Hg. Co. 105th Sanitary Train, which was a medical unit. Both of his parents died while he was in France. He arrived back in the US aboard the vessel Huron in April 1919 and was discharged.
They lived in Mexico for awhile, returned home for the birth of their first child.
