This house still exists, although in somewhat altered form, but I will not post any modern photos of it to protect the privacy of the current occupants.  Click the thumbnails to see larger images.  George R. Van Kleeck and his wife Clara were the last members of this family to live on this farm.  There is another photo of George calling a square dance on the Camp Woodland webpage (third photo down).

1.  David and Adeline (Van Leuvan) Van Kleeck with their son George R. Van Kleeck (1887-1978, on the left holding the team).  My grandmother remember's being told that, in the blizzard of 1888, the snow was so deep that the family had to climb out the second floor windows in order to take care of the animals.  I'm not sure when this photo was taken.  The original is badly faded and I'm not sure how much more I can do with it.  Below are enlarged details of the people in the photo.

3.  Van Kleeck family circa 1920.  This may be the Van Kleeck farm in Samsonville where George resided or it may be the home of one of the other people in the photo - several relatives lived in that general area at the time.  Click on the photo for a page with further information on these people.
