Tangled Roots and Twisted Branches

VAN KLEECK

Page 1:  Transcripts of Various Family Documents

The following information is taken from my grandmother's book, "Tangled Roots and Twisted Branches" (published 1987), with some minor reformatting for the web.  This book is known to contain some errors.  If you have any corrections or additions, please contact me.  To get to information about my great great great grandparents (Jeremiah Van Kleeck and Sally Avery/Every) and their descendants, click here.

These are copied transcripts of 1) a deed transferral? (heirs selling inheritance?); and 2) the will of Jeremiah B. Van Kleeck (apparently my ggg grandfather's uncle) that were typed up in the book.  ---- lines may mean words or phrases that Grandma was unable to read due to fading, difficult handwriting, etc.  I have copied the typed entries in the book as closely as possible, including spelling and punctuation.  I have not seen the original documents that were transcribed, so cannot estimate the accuracy of the transcripts.

A lot of the longer words are abbreviated, probably by my grandmother to save time, space, and cramped hands as the book was originally hand-written before a friend of hers typed it all up and printed it out with her word processor.  I have "bulleted" a couple of lists of people in order to try to make them a little easier to read.
