The following information is taken from my grandmother's book, "Tangled Roots and Twisted Branches" (published 1987), with some minor reformatting for the web.  This book is known to contain some errors.  If you have any corrections or additions, please contact me.

I have not found too much on this line as yet.  There is a known SHUFELDT Genealogy which may have this lineage.  See it at N.Y.S. Library.

JACOB SHUFELT married three times

1. m I:  Catherine Fritz - 1 child
   
2. m. II:  Gertje Fritz (sister of Catherine) - 5 children
   
3. m. III:  Margaret Fritz (sister of other 2 wives) - possible children

(Grandma only lists the children here - not clear which ones are supposed to go with which mother.  Jacob's third wife Margaret may be listed incorrectly - see also my database on Worldconnect -- RT)

5. LUCINDA SHUFELT born 10 January 1822, died 3 May 1904, married RICHARD KERR
   
6. Levi Shufeldt (1825 - 1897); buried Oxford, NY - 7 children
   
7. Elmira 1826     with mother listed as Margaret
   
8. Mary Jane 1835 - 1885 married 1852 Samonville (Ulster Co., NY) to Alfred COLLINS  (I have 11 children listed for this couple - RT)

    Alfred Collins married II:    Mrs. Mary Markle who had previously been married
   

   1. to Mr. Van Bumble - had son and daughter
      
   2. to Abraham Osterhoudt - had two sons (I have an Osterhout page, but no idea how or if this man may fit into it).

The SHUFELDTs are listed as coming with the Palatines from Germany about 1710, settline in Dutchess and Columbia Counties.
