OBITUARY
Myrtle Simmons
The death of Myrtle Simmons, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Simmons, which occurred at her home Saturday, April 5, has cast a gloom over all and removed a ray of sunshine from the happy family circle. She was ill only a few weeks of meningitis and all that loving hands and medical skill could do was done. The funeral services were held Tuesday from the Stanfordville Church, conducted by Rev. B. S. Crosby, who spoke very feelingly. There were many floral tokens. The bearers were Ira Wirehouse, B. A. Fradenburg, Wm. J. Hevenor and Harvey Losee. The heartfelt sympathy of their many friends is extended to them in this hour of bereavement.
Not Death But Life The Master gave into my hands a little life to hold, An unfledged bird for which to care, a helpless lamb to fold. I thanked Him through my happy tears and murmured "Into thy hands,I give, dear Lord, the leading of my child." A little while, a happy while, and then the unstained breath Of human life went slowly out, and that, they said, was death. I knew it was not death, but life when Jesus stopped to say, "I am the Way, the Truth, the Life." and led the lamb away. My lamb by sacred motherhood, hers, by the right divine Of life that bears all spirit life, as branches of the vine; Hers for all growth in angelhood, hers for defense from fears, Hers and mine to hold in Him thorugh the eternal years.
