Miss Mary G. Radcliffe

Miss Mary G. Radcliffe, at one time a resident of Rhinebeck, died last week Friday in Poughkeepsie in the eighty-eighth year of her age. She was born in Albany, her parents being the late David V. N. and Mary Gravert Radcliff. The family lived for many years in the old Radcliffe residence, still standing, on the river bank just north of Rhinecliff. Among her nearest survivors is her nephew, Major Radcliffe Heermance of Princeton, N.J.

Funeral services were held at her late home, 287 Mill street, Poughkeepsie, Monday morning, the Rev. Dr. Cummings officiating. Burial was in Albany Rural cemetery.


Mrs. Theodore Zeigler

Mrs. Carrie Zeigler, wife of the late Theodore Zeigler and daughter of the late Thomas and (name missing due to deteriorated paper) Merryweather, died this Friday morning at the Thompson Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Madalin, Feb. 25, 1871 and has lived in Rhinebeck for the past thirty odd years. She was a member of the Reformed church of this village. Surviving her are one sister, Mrs. Webster Rockefeller; three brothers, Arthur and Almon Merryweather of Rhinebeck and James Merryweather of New York city.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p. m. at her late home on Beech street, the Rev. F. D. Blanchard officiating. Burial will be in Rhinebeck cemetery.


James Fitzpatrick

James Fitzpatrick died at his home south of the village this Friday morning in the sixty-fifth year of his age. He was born in Ireland and came to this country when a young man, making his home in Rhinebeck for the past forty years. Surviving him are two sons, John, of Poughkeepsie; William of Rhinebeck; three daughters, Mary of Rhinebeck, Mrs. John Prather of Dumont, N. J., and Elizabeth of Mt. Vernon. There are also four grandchildren, John and William Fitzpatrick of Poughkeepsie and John and Mary Elizabeth Prather of Dumont, N. J.

Funeral services will be held Monday morning 10 o'clock at the Church of the Good Shepherd, the Rev. Father Gill officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery at Rhinecliff.


Henry David Stringham

Funeral services for Henry David Stringham of Rhinecliff who died in St. Francis Hospital, were held at 77 Academy street, Poughkeepsie, Saturday. The Rev. W. W. Kamp of the Friends' church officiated. Burial was in St. James Cemetery at Hyde Park.

Mr. Stringham was a descendant of an old Dutchess County family. He was born in this county and lived here as a boy. His parents were John and Eliza Barnes Stringham.

He later went to New York City, where he became associated with the New York Central Railroad, holding a responsible position for thirty nine years. He retired a few years ago because of ill health. He was very popular with the railroad employees and was known as the "Railroad Poet", having contributed both prose and poetry regularly to the "New York Central Lines," a railroad magazine.
