Mary Bowman Duncan, widow of Isaac Duncan, passed away quite suddenly at the home of her niece, Mrs. Bertha Wirehouse, Pine Plains, where she had resided the past year and a half. Death came Tuesday afternoon, March 11th.
Mrs. Bowman was born in the Town of Milan on June 30, 1866, a daughter of the late John and Jane Milroy Duncan. Her husband passed away about seventeen years ago. She had resided for some time with a niece, Miss (sic. - should be Mrs.) Dorothy Triebel, of Red Hook, and at the home of Mrs. Otis Bowman in Milan.
Besides her nieces, Miss (sic. - should be Mrs.) Triebel and Mrs. Wirehouse, two nephews, Edward Bowman and Harrison Simmons, of Stanfordville, and a large number of distant relatives survive.
Funeral services will be held from Roberts Funeral Home Friday at 1:30 p. m., with Rev. C. P. Hunter of the Methodist church, of which she was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Mechanics Cemetery, South Millbrook (sic.). Grandnephews will act as bearers.
(Above reference should be to Mrs. Dorothy (Simmons) Triebel, widow of William Franklin Triebel - my grandparents. Harrison Simmons mentioned above was Dorothy's brother.)
(Mary (Bowman) Duncan is actually buried in Nine Partners Cemetery in Millbrook, not Mechanics Cemetery as noted above.)
