DEATH OF DAVID BOWMAN
David Bowman died at his late home in the town of Stanford, July 10, 1910, aged 79 years. The cause of death was kidney trouble from which he had been a sufferer for the past few years. Mr. Bowman was one of the best known men of the town of Stanford, and held in high esteem by all who knew him.
Deceased was the son of Joseph and Maria Bowman, and was the last surviving member of that family. He was born in the town of Milan in 1831, and had resided in the immediate vicinity all his life. He was a carpenter by trade, but later took up agriculture. He married Lucinda Thorne, of Bethel, who survives him. Five children were born to them as follows; Rheuanna, who married George Rikert, now deceased; Lina, wife of Myron Decker; Rosa, wife of John R. Myers; Grace, who married George Duncan, now deceased, and Walter Bowman, of Wassaic. Mr. and Mrs. Bowman were taken ill with bowel trouble about ten days ago, and both were in a semi-conscious condition. Mr. Bowman died as above stated, and his wife is in a very critical condition.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock at the Christian Church, Stanfordville. Interment at Stanfordville.

Lucinda Thorn, wife of the late David Bowman, died Tuesday evening January 20, 1920, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John R. Myers, in this village. She would have been 86 years old had she lived until the fourteenth of next month. She was the daughter of Rensselaer and Rhuamy Case Thorn, who lived in the house now belonging to William Snyder, a short distance east of the Bethel school house. She is survived by one son, Walter Bowman, of Wassaic, and two daughters, Mrs. John R. Myers, of Pine Plains, and Mrs. Myron Decker, of Poughkeepsie, and one sister, Mrs. Catharine Morgan, of Norfolk, Ct. She was a woman of excellent disposition, kind and true, and a good wife and mother. She was a member of the Stanford Christian Church. For more than a year she had been failing, growing weaker as the days went by, under the infirmities of age. For five months she had not been able to leave her room, but she had all the care and comfort that could be given her by her loving and amiable daughter, Mrs. Myers, with whom she lived for a long time. Funeral services at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Myers. Interment at Stanfordville.
