Walter Bowman Dies in Florida Hospital

Walter D. Bowman of Wassaic, 65, died at the Tampa hospital, Tampa, Fla. about 6:30 Tuesday morning.  Mr. Bowman left Wassaic January 15 to spend the winter in Florida, and was taken sick on the journey down, and had been suffering since then.

He had been a resident of Wassaic about 35 years, having formerly conducted the Wassaic House.  He was brought up in the town of Stanford, a son of David and Lucinda Bowman.  His wife, who survives him, was formerly Miss Jennie Duncan of Millbrook.  He leaves also two sons, Isaac and David W., besides two sisters, Mrs. Lina Docker (sic. - surname should be Decker), Pine Plains and Mrs. Rose Myers of Millbrook, formerly of Pine Plains.  He leaves a number of relatives in this vicinity including the following first cousins:  Mrs. F. S. Barrett, Wilbur J. Bowman and Horace Bowman of Pine Plains.

Mr. Bowman was a member of the Amenia lodge of Masons and of the Poughkeepsie lodge of Elks.

Funeral arrangements are not yet complete.
