Helen (Near) Fraleigh Bowman

Mrs. Bowman Dies After a Brief Illness -

Helen M. Bowman passed away at the home of Mrs. Lily Piester at Pine Plains following a short illness at the age of eighty-eight years.  She was a daughter of Mathias Rowe Near and Elizabeth L. Cramer.  She was united in marriage in 1866 to George W. Fraleigh who lived only five years.  One son, Philip was born to them.  In (? line is very blurry, cannot make out date) she married Albert Bowman.  She is survived by two sons, Philip Fraleigh of Red Hook and George Bowman, and three step-children, Mrs. Lily Piester, Alice Bowman, and Horace Bowman of Pine Plains.  Funeral services were held from Mrs. Piester's, Friday, January 16th with burial at Red Hook.

Mrs. Bowman resided for many years in this town at Shelley Hill with her son George and family.
