Miss Alice Bowman, died Tuesday, February 18th at the home of her brother Horace Bowman, following an illness of one week.
She was born in the town of Milan. August 18, 1858, a daughter of the late Albert and Frances Story Bowman. Miss Bowman had made her home in Pine Plains for the past sixty years, and was a retired school teacher. She was also an active member of the local Methodist church.
Surviving are one brother, Horace Bowman and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Piester, both of Pine Plains; and one half-brother, George Bowman, of Stanford.
Private funeral services will be held at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lillie Piester on Friday afternoon at 1:30, conducted by the Rev. George A. Boss, pastor of the local Methodist church. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Frank S. Roberts and son.
Bearers will be nephews of Miss Bowman: Mark Piester, Albert Bowman, Albert Myers and Willard LaDue.
