Ida (Van Benschoten) Bowman obituary
(I have also seen this woman listed in some places as "Sarah Van Benschoten")

LAFAYETTEVILLE

A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral of Mrs. Otis Bowman, which was held from her home here Friday, May 9.  Rev. Glenwood of Pine Plains officiated and took his text from St. John XIV chapter:  "Let not your hearts be trouble, I will not leave you comfortless."  He also spoke of Mrs. Bowman's fine christian character, her jovial ways, and her many acts of kindness shown to all with whom she came in contact.  "Face to face" and "Shall we gather at the river" were feelingly sung by Mrs. C. Cornelius, Mrs. Y. Shelby and Miss Helga Johnson.  Funeral arrangements were in charge of F. Roberts & Sons of Pine Plains, where interment took place.  She is survived by her husband Otis Bowman, and daughter, Mrs. F. Wirehouse, a son Edward, also one sister, Mrs. Chas Cookingham of Stamfordville, and her aged father and mother, Mrs. (sic.) and Mrs. Arthur Van Benschoten, who have our heartfelt sympathy in this their hour of sorrow.  Floral tributes were received from husband, large flat boquet (sic.); Lafayetteville Sunday school, wreath, parents, large pillow; sister and family, wreath; children, large pillow; boquet sweet peas, Mrs. J. Hicks of Pine Plains, Calla Lillies, grandmother Bowman; Easter lillies, Mr. and Mrs. J. Duncan; sweet peas, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Lyle; violets, the Martin family; boquet, Mrs. Wm. Milroy and Mrs. Wm. Ashur; boquet, Alfred Lick and family; wreath, Dr. H. Y. Cookingham; wreath, Mr. and Mrs. F. Wilcox; flat boquet, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Nelson.
