Mr. and Mrs. George A. Bowman of Shelley Hill, were guests of honor at a dinner at Hill Top Rest, Clinton Corners on Saturday evening, Nov. 1st, given by their daughters, Mrs. Mark Piester and Mrs. Willard La Due, in celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary.  Mrs. Bowman was the former Mary Wing and the couple were married on Oct. 31, 1897 at the Washington Street Methodist parsonage by Rev. DeWitt B. Thompson.  They were the recipients of a bouquet of 50 yellow chrysanthemums, money and congratulatory cards.  Besides the honor guests, others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Mark Piester, Charles La Due, of Pine Plains, Mr. and Mrs. Willard La Due, of Stanford, Jean La Due of Poughkeepsie, Judith La Due of New Paltz, Mr. and Mrs. Edouard Hericourt of Red Hook, Abram V. Wing of East Berlin, Conn., Joseph Bergen of Poughkeepsie.  On Sunday callers at the Bowman home were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Fowler, Mrs. Margaret Budd, Mrs. Grace Doughty, Mrs. Lulu Field, and Miss Emma Holmes.
