The third annual reunion of the descendants of Maltiah and Roba Arnold Bowman, was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Budd, Clinton Corners, Sunday, August 27, with approximately 115 attending. The tables were set on the spacious lawn under spreading maples. Golden Rod, ferns and potted plants decorated the large porches. Luncheon was served at noon, and during the afternoon a program was presented under the direction of Clara Robinson.
Assisting the hostess with the serving of luncheon were: Mrs. George Bowman, Mrs. Fernando Wirehouse, Mrs. Ralph Perkins, Mrs. Mark Piester, Mrs. Ernest Croft, Mrs. J. V. Fowler, and Mrs. Rose Myers. Cakes were presented to I. J. Wirehouse, whose birthday was celebrated, and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Croft, who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Those participating in the program were: Helen Piester, George Bowman, William Evans, J. Virgil Fowler, Beulah and Thelma Budd, Mrs. Irene F. Croft, Edward Bowman Jr., Robert Bowman, William Sherow. Horace Bowman and Wilbur J. Bowman gave talks on the early family history of the Bowman family.
Wilbur J. Bowman, vice president of the family association presided for the election of officers. The following were named; president, Mrs. George Bowman; vice president, Mrs. Fred S. Barrett; secretary, Mrs. William Budd; historian, Horace Bowman. In connection with the reunion family portraits were displayed and a child's highchair was shown. The chair belonged to Macy Bowman, great grandfather of Mr. Budd and father of Mrs. Jenne (sic.) Eckert, who was one of a family of thirteen children, who used this chair also there were two other generations of smaller families in direct line who used this chair.
