This card has been claimed by a relative, but I have moved a couple of times since I first made this page. I have so far been unable to find the card despite repeated searches through my files. If and when I ever DO manage to find it, it will be returned to the family.
I found this postcard at a postcard show in Austin in early 2002. The text was apparently written by their mother. It was sent from Lebanon, Tennesee to Pecos, Texas. The front of the card reads as follows:
Lebanon Tenn
Route #6
Nov 19, 1942Mrs. C. G. Johnson
I was very glad to recived (sic.) the clipping concerning of my boys. I also recived 77 others. Im sending you a picture of them as a remembrance. May God bless you.Mrs. Nancy Pass
Underneath the two young men in the photo are written their names: Charlie (left) and Arlie (right).
I am no expert, but this appears to be the crew of a B-17 bomber. The photo is about 4 inches by 5 inches. The writing along the bottom appears to read as follows:
The names of all the men in the photo are written on the back along with "Rte 2 Box 262". I enhanced the contrast slightly to make it more readable.
UPDATE: For full names of these men and further information on their unit, see the page on John C. Lawlor, Jr. Crew at the 303rd Bomb Group Assn. web site.

Lt. Hicks not in picture
The writing on the back of this postcard is rather sloppy and some of it is hard to make out. The soldier in the photo is named either HALL or HALE - I couldn't make out whether the last letter of his name was an "E" or an "L". As nearly as I can make it out, the back reads as follows:
Glenwood Woolridge - B - Batt.
John Haberer (far left, marked with an "x"). His two friends are unidentified.
Joe Richardson, 1918. There are at least two more men inside the tent: one on the cot on the left side of the entrance (his boots are just visible inside the tent) and one standing directly inside the door - I believe he is the source of the cigarette smoke drifting past Joe's ear. His hands and boots may not be visible in this small image file.
