found at an antique store in
Georgetown, Texas

I found a very large number of photos from Berea and other locations around Ohio at this store when I visited. They may very well have all been relatives of this family, but to keep costs down I was forced to limit myself to the ones in the best shape with names on them. Also see my photos of HONESS (HONEAS?) children, who were apparently from the same area and may or may not be related to this family.
UPDATE - I have found information on what I believe to be the same family on RootsWeb's WorldConnect site (has info on Thomas' ancestors) and at My-Ged (has info on his wife Elizabeth Moore's ancestors).
"Grandpa Thomas Kemp" and "Grandma Elizabeth E. Moore Kemp". These are both on cardstock and measure roughly 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. The back of Elizabeth's photo reads: "A. B. Low, Photographer, Attica, Ohio." There is no photographer or studio information on Thomas Kemp's photo. Someone has tried to make Elizabeth's nose show up better by drawing small curved marks like parentheses next to her nostrils.
"Uncle William Kemp" and "Uncle Will's wife Angie". These are ferrotypes (more commonly known as "tintypes") glued to paper frames. William has come loose from his paper frame. The frames measure about 2 1/2 by 4 inches. The photos themselves are slightly smaller. Both are roughly 2 by 2 1/2 inches. There is no photographer or studio information on either photograph. Since these are tintypes, which tend to get dark and murky looking with age, I have digitally retouched them both to make them easier to see.
"Uncle Finley L. Kemp" (see also the photo immediately below). This photo is on cardstock and measures about 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. Information on the back says: "M. V. Gilbert, Artistic Photographs, Ada, Ohio 1881. Seventeen years experience. Photographs of all sizes and latest styles made from life or old pict-". The card may have been trimmed here, although it doesn't look it.
Uncle Finley Kemp (see also the above photo), his wife Clara, and their son Harry. This photo is on cardstock and measures 4 1/4 by 6 1/2 inches. The bottom of the card reads "Weatherby, Plymouth, O."
"Ungle George Kemp". This is on cardstock and measures about 2 1/2 by 4 inches. There is no photographer information on this portrait. I digitally retouched this image in an attempt to lighten it up and make George easier to see. It looks a bit odd to me, as though it were either heavily retouched or a photo of a painting.
Another portrait of "Uncle George Kemp". This one is on a postcard and measures about 3 3/8 by 5 3/8 inches. The odd look of being a photo of a painting is much more noticeable in this portrait.
"Uncle David Kemp". This photo is on cardstock and measures about 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. There is no photographer information on it. Someone appears to have penciled or inked in some of the detail on the front of his shirt to make it show up better.
"Uncle Frank Kemp, died at 21 yr". This photo is on cardstock and measures about 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. The back of the photo says: "A. B. Low, Photogapher, Attica, Ohio."
"Aunt Emily Kemp (Work)" - no idea which is her maiden name from this or which of the above "Uncles" (if any) she might belong with. As with "Grandma Elizabeth" at the top of the page, someone has tried to make her nose show up better by drawing small curved marks like parentheses next to her nostrils. This photo is on cardstock and measures about 2 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. The back of her photo has the same information as "Grandma Elizabeth" above: "A. B. Low, Photographer, Attica, Ohio."
"Mrs. Martin, Berea O., is S.S. teacher". Mrs. Martin the Sunday School teacher is on cardstock measuring about 6 1/2 by 4 1/4 inches. The handwriting on the front appears to be the same as on the Kemp family photos above - the family's children were probably in her Sunday School classes. Except for a large defect of some kind next to her shoulder, she's in pretty good shape. The card has gold trim around the edges, but no photographer information.
