These four photographs were found at the Citywide Garage Sale held in Austin, Texas on March 15, 2003. They all seem to be people from areas of Texas not far from Austin.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Frederick or Friederich. The photographer is given as "Lackey's Studio, Temple, Texas." There is a mark on the back showing a leaf which reads "Collins" and "Ponda", but this may just be the name of the frame manufacturer. This is a lovely wedding photo from the 1920s or 30s. The frame is one of those folding cardboard types which form into a sort of easel. The photo is on textured paper, which does not show in this reduced copy. Unfortunately, as with several other photos I have seen from this time period, the silver in the emulsion is apparently either breaking down or tarnishing, which gives the dark areas of the photo an unwanted reflective sheen (again, this does not show up much here - it's much more extensive and obvious in the actual photo). The photo in its frame is roughly 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches.
