found in Central Texas
June, 2003
A relative of this family emailed me to claim them. I emailed back to get information on where to send them, but never received an answer. Perhaps my email got caught in a spam filter? I would still like to return these people to their family.
These are slightly faded but not too bad. They are all snapshots roughly 2 1/2 inches by 4 inches. All were apparently taken in the 1910s in the state of Massachusetts. I found a listing on Worldconnect for an Eleanor Ashenden, born in Massachusetts, who died in Austin, Texas in 1996. I wonder if these were her people.
Family photo. "Daniel Cadwalada Evens (Eva A. Murray Grandfarther (sic.)) Holding Betty (Frye) Fowler. Eva Ashenden Murray. Thomas E. Ashenden Holding Richard Murray + Lillian (Ashenden) Lawton."
Ladies of the Ashenden family. "Rose (nee Buckly) Ashenden + Eva Ashenden Murray. Edith Ashenden. Lillian (nee Ashenden) Lawton."
"Eva Ashenden + friends on vacation on Plum Island in Newbery Port Mass. 1914". The lady on the left appears to be Miss Lallie from the photo immediately below.
Mable Gates and Mollie or Nellie Lallie. Miss Lallie's first name is hard to read here.
Rose Burns, Tom Walsh, unidentified woman, George Murray.
"Uncle Tom Newby + Aunt Mary and their car."
