MCCARTNEY Andrew 2nd Mon, Dec 1818 John Ewing executor for Wm Thompson, states a parcel contract for exchange between these two men existed. Zachariah Laird of Conemaugh Twp appeared in court and stated Wm & Andrew, in the summer of 1815, came to his home and stated Wm Thompson sold to Andrew McCartney 7 acres of land including a saw mill seat for which Andrew agreed to convey "in lot No 42" in the Borough of Indiana. Saw mill tract was situated in Conemaugh Twp and was part of a larger tract.

Left 5 children: James, John, Lazarus, Thomas & David McLean. There was an inquest to decide if the land could be divided or if it should be sold undivided. With the sheriff, Henry kinter, these men viewed the tract: James Wiggins, Meek Kelly, James McLain Sr, John McAnulty, Alexander McMullen, Adam Johnston, Peter Sutton, Andrew Gibson, James Johnston, John Ross, Andrew Dickson & Jacob George. Surveyed 15 Nov. 1822 James McLean, oldest son of Lazarus, came into court and offered to tkae land at appraisement price. (Note: Apparently there was a James Mclain, Sr and James McLain, Jr who were not father and son. Jr seems to have been son of Lazarus, deceased)
