Indiana County, PA Deaths

Before reading the listings of deaths, please note the following:

According to the records people under the age of 18 were to have their parents listed, you find in some cases the parents were not listed, also you will find people over the age of 18 parents listed even if they were married.  You will find people who have the wrong sex (male/female) listed, you will see children who have a marital status of being married.  For the most part when a mother is listed for someone she has the same last name as the father, you will see at times she has a different last name or the child has the mothers last name and not the fathers.   Another thing to remember is that names can be incorrect in the records as for example "Harry Coon" is actually Harrison Coon known as Housen Coon.  You will also find a person in the records twice and their information may not be totally the same.   Not all of the people in these listings are from Indiana County some of them are from other counties and other states and they can be buried anywhere in the state of PA or in another state.  

Some of the cemeteries tell you where they are others do not, some of the names of the cemeteries are called something different from what they are today.  For example the Great Cemetery is Shelocta UP Cemetery, Howe Cemetery is Howearth Cemetery.  Also remember there are two Oakland Cemeteries in Indiana County, it doesn't always tell you which one.
