Conemaugh Township, Indiana County, PA

This township was formed in 1803

Fort Blacklegs

Black Legs Town - a Delaware Indian Village probably on both side of Black Legs Creek at the juncture with the Kiskiminetas below Saltsburg.  It was inhabited by the Delawares in the 1730's and 1740's.  The juncture of Loyalhanna Creek with the Kiskiminetas, a mile or so above this made it rather central point for the movement of Indians and traders.
