My BURBIDGE line starts back about 1755 with Ruben BURBIDGE, he married Susanna Lockyer on the 12th May 1777 at Christchurch. James BURBIDGE, Ruben and Susanna's son moved to Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, England. Where the family stayed and are still there to-day. My Grandfather William Edward James BURBIDGE, was baptised in Springbourne, Hampshire, (now part of Bournmouth). He was baptised Edward James BURBIDGE and the William added later. His second wife Mary Ann Short, was my Grandmother. It was both William and Mary's 2nd marriage. One of William and Mary's children was Ada Tabitha Kate BURBIDGE was my mother.
