Dennehy - this line is of Irish descent and has been traced it back to Somerville and Cambridge MA and New Foundland, Canada.  Alternate spellings (Denehy, Danehy and Dennehey) have been found in some of the research done to date.    John Dennehy married Hannah McCarthy and had at least one child also named John Dennehy.  He married Elizabeth (nee unknown) and they had a son, Joseph J. Dennehy (b. 1885).  Joseph married Mary E. McGrath (b. 5/31/1888).  Joseph and Mary had several Children.  One of their children, Joseph James (b. 7/12/1913) married Rita L. McLaughlin.  Joseph and Rita had 4 children; their daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Tracy.

This line is of Irish descent and has been traced it back to Somerville and Cambridge MA and New Foundland, Canada.  Alternate spellings (Denehy, Danehy and Dennehey) have been found in some of the research done to date.  John Dennehy married Hannah McCarthy and had at least one child also named John Dennehy.  He married Elizabeth (nee unknown) and they had a son, Joseph J. Dennehy (b. 1885).  Joseph married Mary E. McGrath (b. 5/31/1888).  Joseph and Mary had several Children.  One of their children, Joseph James (b. 7/12/1913) married Rita L. McLaughlin. 

 

According to the records I’ve found, Joseph James Dennehy (Sr.) was a teamster and Joseph James Dennehy (Jr.) worked for the Boston Gas Co.

This line has been traced to Cambridge, MA.  Pheobe L. Marshall married Edward F. McLaughlin abt. 1909.  She was born in Cambridge, MA, her parents were George Marshall and Elizabeth Green.  George Marshall’s parents were George Marshall and Mary (nee unknown).  According to the records I’ve found George Marshall (Sr.) was a Butcher.

McLaughlin

There has been very little research done on this line to date.  Although it has been traced back to Edward McLaughlin in MA.  Edward was born in Canada per the 1920 census and family lore has it that his family originated in Scotland.  Edward married Phoebe Marshall and they had at least 5 Children, the youngest, Rita Lillian married Joseph James Dennehy.
