Welcome to the Maguire Genealogy web site. While researching my Maguires , I have encountered many other Maguires. I have attempted to list them here as a resource to other Maguire researchers.My immediate family uses the Maguire variation of the name so in my genealogy, I have used that spelling exclusively. In the records, I am leaving the original spelling as I transcribed it. In the past, spelling was more fluid than it is today and we must be aware that our ancestors may have spelt their name differently at different times, especially if they were illiterate and the name was being spelt phonetically by a record keeper. Thus Maguire is also found as McGuire and MacGuire among others. I hope that you enjoy this site and find it useful in your search.
