THE KELLEY FAMILY
Charles and Elizabeth Kelley had three or four children. Three are known to have reached adulthood. The 1850 census of Gonzales County, Texas, shows a son James, age 10. That would make him older than the marriage. No other record of such a child has been found. That census also does not show Charles and Elizabeth's second son, Robert, who would have been 5 years old by then.

James Kelley
James Kelley is found in the 1850 census of Gonzales County, Texas. He is listed as age 10, born in Texas, with Charles 35, Jane 25, Thomas 8 and Mary 1. Robert P. Kelley is not listed in that census. It is possible that the son shown as James was actually Robert, recorded by the wrong name and age.
Thomas Elwood Kelley
Thomas Elwood Kelley was born 9 March 1843 in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas. He died 4 April 1915 in Caldwell County, Texas. He is buried in the Clark's Chapel Cemetery in that county. Thomas was married 1 January 1868 to Sylbert Anna Foreman. She reportedly had a long string of names, but probably used Sylbert. She was born 8 October 1842 and died 6 July 1891. Her parents were James Jackson Foreman and Priscilla Fuller.

Robert Polk Kelley
Robert Polk Kelley was born 10 March 1845 in Gonzales County, Texas, and died 17 December 1935. He was married on 18 January 1871 to Texana Foreman, a sister to Sylbert Foreman, wife of Tom Kelley, Robert's brother.One Kelley family researcher gives the children of Robert and Texana Kelley as:
