Moses Damon Cemetery
Chesterfield, Massachusetts

This quotation from Mrs. Inez Stevens Lederer's manuscript Tombstone Inscriptions of the Cemeteries of Chesterfield, Massachusetts 1773-1940 (originally published in 1940 and revised in 1962): "This cemetery is on a side road leading west from Shack Street, which is the old road from Westhampton to Chesterfield. It is near the old Nathan Damon place, across the line into Westhampton. This lot is in Chesterfield. Moses and Nathan were brothers." The information on this cemetery is on page 93 of the 1962 edition of the transcriptions.

This is by far the most difficult of all the Chesterfield Cemeteries to find today. Thank you to Mr. Lewis of Westhampton, who lives in the first home over the town line, for guiding me directly to the graveyard. It's located up a side street that is marked only by the mailboxes at the end of it, namely Lyons. The cemetery is found behind the Lyons property about ½ mile up the street on the left hand side.

Pictures of each stone in the cemetery are below; transcriptions of the carvings on each by Mrs. Lederer.
