Chesterfield, Massachusetts
There are seventeen stones here, along with another sixteen
smaller stones with no carving intact. The earliest carved stone
is from 1837. The latest from 1888.
This description from Mrs. Lederer's transcriptions, page 91:
"Old Cemetery *
Same Road *
Huntington Hill Road. (Several miles farther on, halfway down the
hill toward Huntington, on an old unused road.)

A stone that seems to have toppled over. There are no apparent carvings on this stone. |
| The carvings on these small stones, if they ever existed, are gone. The small shallow depressions in the ground seems to indicate that these may have been the graves of children. | ![]() click on picture for full size |

A flag in a "G.A.R." holder, seemingly indicating that a civil war veteran was buried here. But small stones and the closeness of them seem to show that children could be buried here. |
