1. Samuel1 Swilley, RS was born Abt. 1750 in Creven Co., NC, and died 1817 in Taylor's Creek, Liberty Co., GA. He married Sarah (Unknown) Swilley. She was born Abt. 1760 in NC, and died Abt. 1830 in Liberty Co., GA.
Samuel served in the Ref. War in 1781-2 in the SC militia. His widow, Sarah drew land as the widow of a Rev. soldier in the 1827 GA Land Lottery, resident at that time of Liberty Co., GA.
He was born in Craven Co., NC, moving to Lancaster Co., SC before the Rev.
Samuel and his brother, John emigrated to Washington Co.,GA, on the Ohoopee River soon after the Rev. He moved to Liberty Co., GA about 1798-1800, while his brother John was cut into Montgomery Co in 1793, later in Tattnall. Samuel had 156 acres in Washington Co. surveyed for him in 1790, for which grant had been issued in 1798.
