Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Pollard & Chrispen Hunt are held and firmly bound to Patrick Henry Esq Governor of Virginia in the sum of Fifty pounds_the which payment well & Truly to be made  we bind ourselves our heirs &c firmly by these presents  Sealed & Dated this 1st Day of August 1778 in the Third Year of the Comm.Wealth

            The condition of the above oblgn. is such that whereas there is a Marriage shortly intended to be had & solemnized between the above bound Thomas Pollard & Chizia Hunt If therefore there be no Lawfull cause to obstruct the same then the above oblgn. to be Void otherwise to remain in full force & virtue.
