Mrs. Theodocius Fenton died at her home in Burke on Friday morning last, after an illness of about three weeks, the result of a stroke of apoplexy, at the age of 74 years. She is survived by her husband and six children, Mrs. W. Town and Mrs. W. D. Williamson, of Burke; Mrs. W. T. Everett, of Salida, Col.; Albert Fenton, of Burke; Henry Fenton, of (Haverhill), Mass.; and George Fenton, of Everett, Mass., who were all present at the funeral, which was held on Sunday, Rev. S. G. Carley, officiating. Mrs. Fenton had resided in Burke all her life and was highly esteemed by all who knew her.
Geo. Fenton and family went to their
home on Thursday last to be called back by the death of his mother on Friday.

Mrs. (Theodocius) Fenton, who suffered
a stroke of paralysis some weeks ago and has since been seriously ill,
died last Friday morning. She is survived by a husband and six children,
Mrs. Willard Williamson, Mrs. Town, and Albert Fenton, of Burke; Mrs. Everett,
of Colorado, and George and Henry Fenton, who live in the East. The
family have the sympathy of the community in their affliction. The
funeral was held from her late home Sunday at one o'clock, Rev. Mr. Carley
officiating. Mrs. Fenton was 74 years of age, had resided in Burke
many years and was held in high esteem by all her acquaintances.

Theodocius Fenton, who has been in
Ogdensburg Hospital for treatment for several weeks died there last week
Sunday. The remains were brought here Monday and the funeral was
held at the home of the daughter, Mrs. W. D. Williamson, Wednesday at 10
o'clock, Rev. Mr. Carley and Rev. Mr. Penney, officiating. A delegation
from J. W. Pangborn Post, G. A. R. of Malone, attended. The deceased
was a member of the post, having served in the Civil War as a member of
Co. D, 98th New York Infantry. The old veterans are fast passing
away and Mr. Fenton will be greatly missed by his many friends in Burke.
Since the death of his wife about a year ago, Mr. Fenton has made his home
with his daughter, Grace, and has been in feeble health. He is survived
by six children, Henry, of Haverhill, Mass., George, of Everett, Mass.,
Albert, of Burke, Mrs. Wallace Town and Mrs. W. D. Williamson, of Burke,
and Mrs. Walt (Everett), of Colorado. The family have the sympathy
of all in their bereavement. Interment was in Malone.

In the death of Theodocius Fenton,
which occurred at the Ogdensburg City Hospital on Sunday, Burke loses one
of its old and most respected citizens. Mr. Fenton had been in poor
health
for some time. About six weeks ago he went to the hospital and submitted
to an operation, hoping to be restored to health. Mr. and Mrs. W.
D. Williamson, his son-in-law and daughter, were with him at the end.
Mr. Fenton was a native of Saratoga, coming to Burke when a young man and
residing here ever since. He was a veteran of the Civil War, an upright
honest citizen and a kind neighbor. He held many offices of trust
and faithfully fulfilled every obligation. Mrs. Fenton dies about
eight months ago, since which time he has made his home with his daughter,
Mrs. Williamson. He leaves to mourn his loss three sons and three
daughters, Albert, of Burke; Henry, of Haverhill, Mass.; George, of Everett,
Mass.; Mrs. Wallace Town and Mrs. W. D. Williamson, of Burke, and Mrs.
Walter Everett, of Salida, Col., all of whom except Mrs. Everett, were
present at the funeral which was held at the home of Mrs. Williamson on
Wednesday, Rev. S. G. Carley, assisted by Rev. R. C. Penney, of Malone,
officiating. Interment at Morningside cemetery, Malone.
