MARTHA ANN ELIZABETH YOUNG (Nov. 22, 1835- March 25, 1908

George's daughter Martha Ann Elizabeth Young married David McDaniel 'Mack' Young (1832-1917), son of Reuben Young and Sophia Baker. (Reuben was the son of Moses Young, who may have been the son of Thomas and Naomi Hyatt Young). The couple lived in the Young Cove on Cane Creek near Bakersville. On July 11, 1861 Mack Young was elected 2nd Lieutenant in Co. I, 29th N.C. Regiment, the regiment in which his wife's brothers also served. On May 2, 1862 he was appointed 1st Lieutenant. He resigned his commision on August 31, 1862 after being elected to the N.C. General Assembly, where he represented Yancey County from 1862-1864 and 1864-1865.

4) Susan Elizabeth Young (March 4, 1867- Sept. 8, 1932) Not married.
5) Moses Tarpley Young (Feb. 8, 1869- March 19, 1932) m. Elizabeth Elmira Young of TN.
     Moved to Berea, Kentucky and had 7 children.
6) Minnie 'Ninnie' Young (April 29, 1871- July 29, 1958) m. 1st) Don McKinney
      m. 2nd) Decatur McCourry. No children.
7) Samuel M. Young (July 16, 1876- Dec. 3, 1908) m. Francis 'Fanny' McKinney. 3 children.
8) Martha Edna Young (1878-1964)
      Not married, but 1 son (by Zack Young): Carroll Young m. Lillian Burleson.
9) Nellie Mae Young (August 7, 1883- July 24, 1952) m. Brown Young. 3 children.

David 'Mack' Young and Martha Ann Elizabeth Young are buried in Green Young Cemetery near Bakersville.
