In the name of God, Amen. 18th December 1681.
I, Abraham Fielden of Swineshead in Langfield, in the parish of Heptonstall, yeoman, being deseased in body etc.
I give to JOSHUA Fielden my elder sonne, all that messuage wherein I now live, called Swineshead, with all the lands, closes etc. to hold the said messuage for ever, yeilding and paying to ABRAHAM Fielden, my younger sonne, £30 in six years next after my decease, to wit £5 a year.
To ABRAHAM, my son, I give two bondes of £15 apiece; the one from JOHN Fielden of Inchfield, deceased; the other from JOHN Fielden of Knowltopp; which bonds become due on the death of John UTTLEY and Susan his wife.
Whereas I promised to give to JUDITH, my daughter, wife of AMBROSE GREENWOOD, £40, and one cow, whereof part is paid and parte remains a debt; and to MARY, wife of DANIEL GREENWOOD, and ELIZABETH the wife of GILBERT LASSE, a like sum, of which I have paid them £37. Therefore I give to DANIEL GREENWOOD and GILBERT LASSEY £6 and tow kine.
To ABRAHAM, my son, £40 and two cows
To SUSAN, my daughter, £40 and one cowe
To MARTHA, my daughter, £40 and one cowe
The rest of my goods between ABRAHAM, my son, and GILBERT LASSEY, my son in law, and MARY, SUSAN, JUDITH and MARTHA, my daughters.
