ALASKA FIREWEED

Mom took this picture of me (on the left) and my sister Nancy in Alaska. Taken about 1946/7.Mom tinted this picture herself. The fields were red with Fireweed.

This picture was taken about 1948. That's my mother Grace with me and my sister Nancy.I'm on the left.

This picture was in mom's diary and it was small. That is me on the right and my cousin Lynn Alan Vincent.

When we were in Alaska my mother who always loved taking pictures decided to take a class in tinting Black & white photo's. She bought these in Black & white and tinted them. These are copies I made of them. The first two are if I remember right was for storing meat were the wild animals couldn't get to it. Used by the old trappers & Indian's. The other three are of a cabin, an old road with fireweed along the sides, and Mt. Mckinley and Cook Inlet. We could see the Mt. range and the tall Mt. Mckinley from our kitchen window.
