JANUARY 1,2009...Welcome to a New Year. I didn't get as much done as I had planned in 2008, so I hope to do more this year. You will find the updates for 2008 under past updates. I just transferred them there.

January 7,2009...I had a phone call the other day from a Gotham descendant Robin Gotham. He always is very interesting to talk with. He has had a web site on my family.com for a long time which I have access to but being that a lot of people didn't I asked his permission to copy some of his pictures to my site and he very graciously said yes I could.I have worked this afternoon on adding a lot of older Gotham pictures on my site from Robin Gotham. Also a Bio. on Charles T. Gotham. Who has single handily compiled a very extensive tree on the North American Gotham family and their descendants. I will probably work on it more tomorrow. My scanner is acting up so I need to get it working again right then I will finish the Gotham Ties.

January 19,2009.. I just added some more Moye pictures under family photos,Old photos and Moye. My sister in law Susie Moye gave me some. My scanner is OK now Had to reinstall it. Also am going to work more on the diaries soon. I heard from Mark Wentling that an artist in the Jefferson Co area painted a likeness of "The Rock Island Lighthouse" on a Christmas ornament that was hung on the tree in the White House Dec. 2008. This a link to see it. As some of you may know two of my ancestors were light house keepers there. John B. Collins & then his son Joseph Collins. LIGHTHOUSE ORNAMENT and the other link ORNAMENT I found it very interesting. The artist was John Miller the 3rd.

January 26,2009....I have the 1938 diary of Flora Kings almost finished. I will finish it in the morning. Any one reading this who would like to help type some of the diaries let me know email me at jmoye6@cfl.rr.com I could certainly use some help with them. I have five sets of diaries to add here. My mom wrote in one for about 52 years. I have the complete set of hers and the I have Flora Kings,My grandmother Dickinson,my great aunt Ethel Dickinson and my great great grandmothers to finish. My sister left a lot of her writings but I probably won't be able to get to them. Unless I live another 65 years.

January 27,2009....I have the diary for 1938 of Flora Kings finished. Look under My mother Grace, Flora was her cousin.

February 2,2009....I was hoping that 2009 would be a better year then 2008. But looks about the same. My nephew Mark Davis was killed this last weekend. He lives with his folks in Cape Vincent New York and was an EMT. Him and a couple of other EMT's answered a call Friday night and the man acted so strange they were leaving when the man ran into the other room grabbed a gun and shot Mark through the heart killing him. Mark was only 25. Everyone loved him. I have set up a memorial page on here for him. He will be missed by many. I have been working on my mom's diaries today half way through 1939

February 10, 2009.... Added the video's from you tube had of the tribute's to my nephew Mark Davis you can find them under In memory of & obits, then In Memory of and Marks name.

February 17,2009....I added a lot of pictures today. Most of them went under Places I have Lived. Getting ready to go to JeffCoWiki and add George Lee as a pioneer He is the one who built the stone house I was born in. Built in 1834 so that house is now 175 years old. Sent Aunt Betty a Happy Birthday wish She was 94 on Valentine's Day. She lives in Alaska with a son Lynn and daughter Risa.

March 18,2009....I added some picture's taken by a friend last weekend in New York along Pillar Point and on the road to Tibbetts Point Lighthouse.The wind has built up ice on the shore line. Look under Places I have lived/New York/miscellaneous Jefferson Co., photo's. Will be adding more pictures this week.

March 30,2009...Have added some more pictures and more diary entries on moms diary. Finished up to the day she gets married to my dad. They are so interesting to read. She also is writing a lot about World War 2.

August 18, 2009....I have been off line the last few months. I have added more of my mom's diaries. Working on 1946 now, lost some of 1944 but will see if I can't find where I have it. Put them on CD's as I went so will check that out. If I can't locate it I will just have to redo it. I am now back on line if you have any questions same e-mail jmoye6@cfl.rr.com.

August 21, 2009....Added to my Evans Mills page under places I have lived; New York. Also added Herriet Moye's obit and picture of her tombstone to the site. Will be adding more things each day now. Notice I will add an ATTENTION note somewhere on my site for things coming up. Haven't figured out how I want to do that yet....

August 22, 2009....Just added an obit for Margaret Ann Mellen Cook under obits; Dickinson sent to me by a descendant Gord Hines. Thank you Gord it's the people like this that makes this site. Also added some picture's in with mom's diaries.

September 5,2009.....Added to My Book section today. I always wanted to write a book on things that happened to me in my lifetime. So I am doing that here. It's going to be like a mini book. I write on it as the mood hits me. Checked links and fixed a couple. If you find a broken link on any of my pages let me know so I can check them out...

September 10, 2009....I added a page for William Collins Dixon 1st. "Uncle Will" under Bio's. will add his poetry there soon. Also added some more picture's under old photo's. Also added some old letters (very interseting ones about early pioneer life in Jeff. Co. New York under olden days. Some that Irene Dixon Bamford wrote.

September 11, 2009....Today I added some information to the Bamfords under My Genealogy. Also want to remember all the families who lost any one on 9/11. It also would have been my sister Nancy's 69th birthday today she passed away in 2008. I need to finish the Gotham Ties. I had hoped to have them done a long time ago. Have so much to add here yet If any one can help let me know. I have articles that need to be typed before I can add them.

October 7, 2009....I added an obit under Ross & Whitings. William Duane Briggs passed away Monday Oct. 5, 2009. My prayers go out to his wife Rosalind & family.

October 10, 2009....Today I added a short Biography on my great, great grandmother Eleanor O'Connor Vincent who was part of the women's suffrage movement in the 1880's from upstate New York. Have more to add tomorrow on it.

October 11, 2009......Just finished adding another month on mom's 1946 diary I am now at the end of July. Will add more tomorrow.

October 18,2009....Added more on mom's 1946 diary am now at Nov. 24th will probably be able to finish it up tomorrow.

October 26, 2009...Today my youngest grandchild, Christopher N. Moye is 10 years old. Finished 1946 diary and have it on line. I also got more of the 1939 diary of my mom's on line. Will finish that year tomorrow, then I can finish 1944. & be caught up and start 1947 which is a very interesting one.

October 30, 2009....I see Geocities has shut down & also the genealogy information they had with it. Unless people had a chance to move their sites. So I linked to some of these so you will find that some of my links now won't work. I will try and replace what I can. The Vincent ones I can redo some. I will be checking my site for broken links, will see...

October 31, 2009.....I finished mom's 1939 diary. Now going to finish 1944 so I can then start on 1947. added more poems of mom's.

November 13, 2009...And it is Friday the 13th. My lucky day of the year.. I have added under "My Genealogy" Some Vincent information. I also got some added of mom's 1944 diary. Tomorrow through I want to try & work on The Gotham Ties.
