These postcards, A, B, C & D, were each published by the same person in the early 1960's. Whether more than four Thurmaston views were produced is not known. Image A, above, shows an interior view of St. Michael and All Angels Church.

Postcard B - published by A. W. Bourne, 32, Babingley Drive, Leicester.

The photographer was standing on the west bank of the River Soar when this picture was taken. More particularly, the water in the foreground is that which feeds down from the weir. The boat yard is behind the footbridge. The houses on Forest Avenue may be seen in the background.

The photographer was standing on the weir when this photograph was taken. In the centre of the image is the brick-built humped-back bridge. Thurmaston canal/river lock is to its right. The footbridge shown in postcard B is on the left of the picture. Again the houses of Forest Avenue can be seen in the background.
