Phillip Pipes, Sr. ca. 1755 - aft. 1830 - Migrated to Limestone County in early 1820's. Enumerated on 1830 Limestone County, Alabama census as age 70 to 80. Daughter Phoebe Pipes married Solomon McGowan on 05 Jul 1807 in Wayne County, Kentucky. Daughter Abigail Pipes married William Shores 31 Jan 1800 in Wayne County, Kentucky. William & Abigail also moved to Limestone County, Alabama and were enumerated on 1830, 1840 and 1850 census in Limestone County, Alabama. Son Joseph Pipes and wife Jean Shores moved to Limestone County, Alabama where both died in 1824 leaving minor children Samuel and Elizabeth.

John P. Pipes, ca. 1827 - 1862. Married to Delilah Emaline
Adams on 04 Nov 1844 in Limestone County, Alabama. According to "The
Lure and Lore of Limestone County" John P. Pipes was the son of Philip Pipes.
Philip Pipes was the son of John and Winny Pipes who came to Limestone
County from Mercer or Washington County, Kentucky. This book lists the following
as children of Philip Pipes: Mary md. David McGowan; Phillip, md. Peggy Ann
Hill; Diana; Pleasant md. Catherine Moss on 22 Sep. 1850, and
Angelina.
John Pipes built a single-pen log house around 1855. The home was still standing
and occupied in 1978 when "The Lure and Lore of Limestone County" was published.

Mr. J. P. Pipes passed away on the 9th. He was stricken with pneumonia on the 4th. Everything was done for Mr. Pipes that loving hands could do, but he had to go to his reward beyond. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Anna Pipes and eight children, Mrs. Bettie Haynes of Mississippi, Claude Pipes of Tyronza, Ark., Mrs. Artie Culver, Elsie Lucas, Ethel Franks, Dug, William and Delcie Pipes all of this place. He was 73 years of age and had a host of friends here. He was laid to rest at Mt. Zion in the presence of a large assembly. Rev. Dixon officiated, with Mr. Shackelford in charge.
Claude Pipes was here from Tyronza to attend his father.
Squire DeFord and wife and D. Black of Savannah attended the funeral of Mr. Pipes at Mt. Zion last Saturday.
