JENKINS FAMILY OF CRITTENDEN COUNTY, ARKANSAS
Tennessee "Tennie" Jenkins married William Alexander on October 30, 1873 in Crittenden County, Arkansas.
The 1880 Crittenden County census listed the
Alexander family next to the family of A. P. Deal and wife Maggie. Included were
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of A. P. Deal. At this time I am ASSUMING
that these Jenkins' were the siblings of Tennessee Jenkins. This has yet to be
proven by any records. Names: Maggie Deal, Lewis, Ruth, and Mary Jenkins. All
were born in AR indicating that the Jenkins family was in AR by 1860.
I have searched a number of census records for JENKINS living in Crittenden
County. These include 1850, 1860 and 1870. I have not been able to identify the
parents of Tennessee Jenkins.
According to family tradition, Tennesse "Tennie" died when her daughter Ada Alexander was an infant. Ada was raised by Tennessee's friend, Mary Jane Pipes Guest Prince Eastep.
