I am researching the family of EDMOND D. BLACK, born about 1804, died between 29 Jan 1856 and 04 Aug 1857 in Sumter County, Florida.   He was married to married to Edith.  She was born about 1803, and died after 1860, probably in Sumter County, Florida.  Edmond D. Black was the son of Henry Black and Nancy Danner.

Narcissa Black, born 05 Feb 1842 in Alabama, died 29 Jan 1925 in Auburndale, Polk County, Florida.  She married George W. Griffin on 10 February 1865 in Sumter County, Florida.  George was born 7 January, 1844 in Georgia, and died 21 April 1906 near Auburndale, Polk County, Florida.  Narcissa and George are buried in Collins Cemetery near Auburndale, Polk County, Florida

Letter from John A. J. Black to Narcissa Griffin dated 03 Nov 1888 at Caledonia, Rusk County, Texas confirms that John A. J. Black is Narcissa's brother.  He addresses the letter to G. W. & Narcissa Griffin and calls them "dear Brother and Sister."  He concludes his letter, "Well Sister, I will come to a close for this time by saying I remain your Brother until death." 

In 1850, John A. J. Black, age 22, and William M. Black, age 21, were living next to each other in Dale County, Alabama.  Relationship of William M. Black to Edmund is not known.  See census records below.
