was a member of the Masonic Order, Florida Association of Real Estate
Boards, secretary of the Wauchula Realty Board. Had lived in Wauchula sixteen

services. Burial in Livingston, Al. Member of Episcopal church and Order
of the Eastern Star. Survivors: Children R. T. Johnston and Mrs. J. S. Francis
of Avon Park; Mrs. Jack O. Cooper, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Hortense Reese of
Wauchula. Resident of Wauchula for fifteen years.

on Monday at Bartow, Florida. Funeral services on Wednesday at the residence of

charge of services. Burial in Wauchula Cemetery. Former residence of Bradford
County. Member of the Baptist Church. Lived with daughter, Mrs. E. F. Pearce of

Died at home east of Zolfo Springs. Funeral service at New Hope on Thurday
afternoon. Services conducted by Rev. J. T. DeArmond. Member of Church of God at
Zolfo Springs. Resident of county for 57 years. Survived by eleven children.
Daisy, Leila, Effie, Beulah, Thomas, Marcellus, Edison, Mary, Orlena, Loka
and Arnet Brantley.
HARRY E. HARRIS, Born at Castalia, Florida on December 14, 1907. Funeral
services at Lily
Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon. Died on Monday morning. Rev. Sidney Albritton in
charge of
services. Married Miss Violet Nelson six years ago. Survivors: Wife and four
children.
Children Nanette, Harold, and Martin. (Notice says four children but lists only
three names.)

Report from the State Board of Health - Four deaths in Hardee County from
malaria, typhoid, diphtheria, pellagra and tuberculosis reported in August 1932.
None of the reported deaths were from malaria, typhoid, diphtheria, pellagra;
four were from tuberculosis. Reports county population is 10,500.

MRS.J. C. STILL (FREIDA MAE CARLTON), age 23. Born August 2, 1909. Died
Tuesday morning at Wauchula Infirmary. Funeral service on Wednesday morning at
Friendship Church. Rev. H. L. Boyd, Methodist minister at Zolfo Springs in
charge of services. Assisted by Rev. J. T. DeArmond, pastor of Baptist Church.
Survived by parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Carlton of Zolfo Springs; husband J. C.
Still, two small children.

Bowling Green. Survivors: Widow and four children at Geneva, Florida; Mrs.

T. L. WILKERSON, age 38. Died in U. S. Veteran's Hospital in Lake City on
November 18, 1932. Burial in Olive Branch Cemetery, Bowling Green. Rev. J. N.
Hendry in charge of services. Born in Hawthorn, Florida. Resident of Bowling
Green for 29 years. Ex-serviceman. Had been in the government hospital two

Homeland in charge of service. Burial in Orlando. Survivors: Brothers Alex,

MRS. SARAH C. PETTEWAY, age 83. Died at her home in Tampa on Friday.

MRS. J. R. DURRANCE, age 68 and son, ROLAND DURRANCE, age 33.
Automobile accident on Monday. Mrs. J. R. Durrance died on Monday. Roland
Durrance died Wednesday morning in Arcadia hospital. Double funeral services
held in Arcadia on Thursday afternoon. Rev. C. Fred Blackburn in charge of
services. Burial in Lily. Mrs. Durrance was mother of Mrs. M. C. Kayton and Mrs.
Marion Thompson, Wauchula; survived by several children (not named.)

H. B. V. TURNER, Age 54, of Arcadia also died as result on Wednesday as
result of same accident mentioned above. Survived by widow and two children.

to die in three months and 18 days. Brother J. W. Albritton preceded her in
