The following pedigree charts were created by Dennis Longman. Dennis lives in Great Britain and has had a genealogical interest for many years, producing the most complete single-surname study of Longmans that is available. There seem to be three groups of Longmans in the United Kingdom. One is centered in Marnhull, Dorset and is the ancestry of our Longman branch in the U.S. Another is centered around Lydlinch, Dorset, and is probably related but the linkage between the two cannot be established at this time. The third is centered in Derbyshire and is probably not related as it goes back several hundred years in that location. In the annotations for each chart below, a year range is given. These years represent the boundaries of the years contained in a particular chart, but the same years may also be contained in other charts; no single chart is inclusive of all the years shown. The years are shown just as a general use in indexing the charts for your use.
