William Finch was born about 1792. He married on 2 January 1832 in Fulton or Campbell County, Georgia to Lucinda Canady, the daughter of Caleb Canady and Mary "Polly" Evans, was born about 1810 in Georgia. They are found living in Coosa County, Alabama in 1860. By 1870, they are found living in Clay County, Alabama. Children: Mary FINCH, born about 1834 Georgia John W. Ala 1880 James FINCH born about 1837, married Rutha Howell in 1858 Tallapoosa Co., Ala. Rutha Howell was born on 7 January 1836, the daughter of Joshua Howell and Mary Buce. He served in the Civil War with the 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment, Company B. He died during that service on 15 July 1863 in Gordonsville, Virginia. Rutha, widowed, is found in Tallapoosa County in 1870 living with two young children. Rutha later  (1875 Elmore County, Alabama) married a widower, Robert Jefferson Hendricks/Hendrix. Paschal FINCH, born 1859 Nathan FINCH, born 1861 Cincinnatter FINCH, born about 1839 William Ann FINCH was born on 2 June 1839, the daughter of Edward Finch. She married first to Henry D. Simmons, whom she had married on 29 September 1861 in Tallapoosa Co., Ala. Henry D. was born in 1839. He was killed in action at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on 3 July 1863 as part of the 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment, Company B. Henry D. Simmons was the brother of Elizabeth Antionett Simmons COSBY William Ann married James Martin Knox. James was the son of Joseph Knox and Elizabeth Jordan. James was in the same regiment of service during the Civil War. He was paroled at Appomattox Court House, Virginia on 9 April 1865. James died on 6 November 1913 and William Ann died on 21 July 1928. James Arter Smith and Martha Elizabeth Carroll. Annie died on 13 April 1920 and Henry died on 13 June 1941. They are buried in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Henry Finch was in the lumber business. He was also the brother of Mary Kate Finch, who married William T. SANFORD.
