Joseph VINYARD * Talitha Jane SPAIN

Joseph Vineyard was born about 1842, the son of Jesse and Elizabeth Vinyard. There are two marriages of a Joseph Vineyard in the records of Tallapoosa County. I think that he first married Talitha Jane Spain on 30 November 1865. Jane Spain was the daughter of Littleberry and Elizabeth Spain. Something happened to Jane, possibly during childbirth, and he later married Frances O'Daniel on 21 November 1867. Joseph and Frances are found on the 1870 Tallapoosa County census schedule with two children.

Joseph Vinyard served in the Civil War with Company B, 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment.

Unsure of any connection of Frances O'Daniel to James W. O'Daniel, who married Nancy A. Umphress.
